ARGUMENT TURNS DEADLY: FARMER ARRESTED OVER WIFE’S SHOCKING DEATH IN KEBBI

It was supposed to be just another quiet Monday morning in Bayawa Village, Kebbi State. Instead, the community woke up to a tragedy that has left many in shock and mourning.

A 30-year-old farmer, Suleman Mamuda, is now in police custody for allegedly killing his 25-year-old wife, Umaima Maidawa, during a heated domestic dispute.

According to the Kebbi State Police Command, the argument reportedly escalated around 6:30 a.m., when Mamuda allegedly struck his wife with the wooden handle of a hoe, a blow that proved fatal.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the suspect fled the village immediately after the attack, triggering a swift manhunt by security operatives.

“The suspect escaped after the incident but was traced and arrested through credible information provided by members of the community,” Usman disclosed.

Thanks to timely intelligence from residents, the police were able to track Mamuda down and arrest him.

The Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, CP Umar Mohammed-Hadejia, has since ordered that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for thorough investigation and prosecution.

Beyond the arrest, the police have used the incident as a sobering reminder of the dangers of domestic violence, urging residents to speak up and report abuse before it turns fatal.

This heartbreaking killing has once again reignited concerns over rising domestic violence, with advocates calling for stronger community intervention and early reporting to save lives.

One argument. One weapon. One life lost — and a community forever changed.
