GOC CALLS FOR GREATER HONOUR TO FALLEN SOLDIERS ON REMEMBRANCE DAY!

As Nigeria marks Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2026, 8 Division GOC Maj.-Gen. Ibikunle Ajose used Sunday’s interdenominational service at Sokoto’s St. Peter’s Catholic Church to rally for louder tributes to heroes who paid the ultimate price for national peace!

Standing in via Brig.-Gen. Raphael Okoroji, Ajose thanked President Tinubu for boosting troop welfare and family support, spotlighting fallen soldiers, wounded vets, and frontline warriors battling insurgency and banditry—declaring them history’s guardians worthy of endless celebration to fire up future recruits.

Chaplains Lt.-Col. Richard Bwami and Lt.-Col. Irimiya Yidawi led prayers, songs, and food distributions amid vows to emulate the brave; Ajose recommitted the Army to crushing threats, urging active troops to uphold their virtues for a united Naija.
