SOKOTO GETS LIVESTOCK GAME-CHANGER: NEW INSemination & CARE CENTRES LAUNCHED

Ever dreamed of turbocharging Nigeria’s livestock sector with top-notch vet hubs? Minister of Livestock Development Idi Maiha flipped the switch Thursday on artificial insemination and care centres in Sokoto, set to supercharge animal health, breeding, and rural jobs.

Maiha hailed the remodelled veterinary hospital as a powerhouse for diagnostics, training, and youth empowerment under the World Bank-backed Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-Press)—one of 20 nationwide, plus a massive national vaccination drive to crush diseases and fatten wallets.

Sokoto Gov. Ahmad Aliyu cheered the fed-state synergy for food security and anti-banditry ag reforms, while National Coordinator Dr. Muhammad Sanusi spotlighted private partnerships to modernize herder services. Farmers scored equipment handouts too—game on for sustainable North-West prosperity.
