WEST AFRICA CINEMA BOOMS TO N15.6 BILLION IN 2025

Picture this: 2.79 million movie fans packing 122 cinemas across West Africa, pumping N15.6 billion into the box office—Nollywood and Hollywood in a nail-biting photo finish for dominance.

FilmOne Entertainment crunched the numbers: 248 new releases, average ticket at N5,596, with 16 blockbusters smashing N200m and 14 Nollywood flicks topping N100m. ‘Behind The Scenes’ ruled Nollywood, ‘Zootopia 2’ owned animation, ‘Sinners’ crushed Hollywood, and ‘Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle’ slayed anime.

Nollywood snagged 49.4% share (81 films), Hollywood hot on heels at 48.8% (92 releases), plus Chinese/Liberian gems at 1.2%. Indian flicks flooded screens too (52 titles), fueling cinema culture’s explosive growth—2026 looking even bigger
