MOZAMBIQUE COACH CONCEDES: NIGERIA’S SUPER EAGLES WERE SIMPLY SUPERIOR IN 4-0 rout

Imagine facing Africa’s powerhouse and getting schooled from whistle to whistle—that’s Mozambique coach Chiquinho Conde’s honest take after his team’s crushing AFCON 2025 last-16 demolition by Nigeria in Fès.

Conde called it one of his toughest coaching nights ever, admitting the Super Eagles’ masterclass overwhelmed them with purpose, urgency, clinical finishing, and tactical steel—propelling Nigeria into the quarterfinals.

“We expected challenges, but not this magnitude against such a strong, organised Nigerian side,” Conde said, lamenting early possession loss and key players underperforming under relentless pressure. He lavished praise on Nigeria’s maturity: “They showed full strength and efficiency—I congratulate them.”

Despite the 0-4 drubbing, Conde sees growth: “These lessons reveal weaknesses. We’ll analyze, rebuild, and return stronger.” Mozambique exits, but the journey continues.
