Ever seen ex-governors team up to bankroll a rebellion? That’s the vibe in Imo as heavyweights rally millions to fuel ADC’s uprising against the ruling party.
At Tuesday’s ADC stakeholders meeting in Owerri, former Governors Achike Udenwa and Emeka Ihedioha led a N219.7 million fundraising blitz to supercharge party operations statewide.
Udenwa hailed ADC as Imo’s top opposition, praising loyalists for elevating the party’s status nationally and vowing to uproot APC: “We’ll put them in their place!” Ihedioha thanked Chairman Prof. James Okoroma’s team, while Okoroma framed 2027 as a “constitutional duty” to oust APC despite the odds.
The party welcomed defectors like Chief Paul Mbadiwe (son of aviation legend Kingsley Mbadiwe) and Labour Party chieftains, bulking up for the 2027 showdown.
