BUENOS AIRES – Venezuelan police have mobilized federal, state, and municipal units to track down individuals accused of aiding the U.S. special forces operation that captured President Nicolás Maduro on Saturday, according to an emergency decree made public Monday.
The measure, effective immediately from Saturday, directs all law enforcement to pursue suspected collaborators amid reports from U.S. media suggesting inside information from Maduro’s close circle facilitated the raid.
The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) reported 14 journalists briefly detained in the chaos, confirming their release shortly after.
