ARMY SMASHES BANDIT PUSH IN KOGI: 3 DOWN, GUNS SEIZED, SUPPLIER BUSTED

Bandits thought they could sneak through Kogi unchecked? Think again—Nigerian Army troops from 12 Brigade Lokoja turned the tables, gunning down three suspects, grabbing AK-47s, and nabbing their supply guy in bold ops across Kabba/Bunu and Yagba West.

It all kicked off January 3, 2026, on solid intel. First, troops ambushed bandits heading from Adankolo toward Agbadu Bunu. The bad guys ran right into it, got lit up, and bolted—leaving blood trails and two bodies behind. Haul? One AK-47, mag, 99 rounds of 7.62mm ammo, a homemade gun, and 11 cartridges.

Over in Yagba West near Saminaka village, troops and vigilantes swept the area after tips of bandit hangouts. Village empty, they pushed into the bush and clashed—bandits scattered, one more down with an AK-47 and 17 rounds recovered.

Bonus: They snagged Sunday Adedotun from Odo-Eri village, caught red-handed on a farm with cartons of energy drinks, soft drinks, water, and crops—his “farmer helper” story’s under the microscope now. He’s in custody.

Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Kasim Umar Sidi hailed the troops’ smarts and grit, vowing non-stop patrols and intel ops to keep criminals on the run. Kogi’s safer today.
