The Monday tragedy struck NTA colleagues heading back from a colleague’s wedding, per Gov. Mohammed’s statement via aide Mukhtar Gidado. “This is heartbreaking—a great loss to the media, Northeast, and nation,” he said, saluting their role in democracy, unity, and truth-telling.
“As a fellow journalist and Gombe’s neighbor, I commiserate with Gombe Government, NTA management, NUJ national and state chapters, plus families and friends,” Mohammed added. He prayed for the souls of the departed, strength for loved ones, and quick healing for survivors.
