Panic exploded in Kwara’s Offa LGA Christmas night when a massive boom at Yidi prayer ground along Offa-Ijagbo Road injured five residents – including Iya Ayo (chest/stomach/arms shredded by flying nails), her daughter Aisha, a boy with his ear nearly torn off, and a nearby artisan – while ripping through four buildings.
Neighbors spilled the terror: Folks asleep jolted by deafening blasts after sky flashes, with Madam Joy saying it “rammed an upstairs building and pierced three others.” Victims rushed to First Care Hospital Offa for urgent care – no deaths, thank God, but shockwaves hit hard amid yuletide vibes.
CP Adekemi Ojo shut down bomb/military rumors: “Ordnance-related incident, IED experts cleared debris – no threat!” Offa LGA Chair Hon. Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun (on-site with DPO and Gov’s aide Femi Agbaje Whyte) echoed: Suspected drone test gone wrong or malfunction, area secured, calm restored. “Unusual but under control – stay vigilant, ditch fake news!”
Investigations roll as Kwara probes this festive fright.
