LAGOS ISLAND HIGH-RISE BLAZE CONTAINED – 7 INJURED, NO FATALITIES

A massive fire tore through the 22-storey Great Nigeria Insurance House on Lagos Island Wednesday, injuring seven men with burns and five others (three men, two women) from smoke inhalation – but LASEMA heroes contained the inferno before it could claim lives.

Perm Sec Dr. Oke-Osanyitolu confirmed first aid stabilized the smoke victims on-site for discharge, while responders tackled spread to a nearby mosque and Oluwole Plaza. Radio Nigeria’s seven-storey opposite got fully doused, most plaza goods saved – heat and smoke now minimal as dampening ops wrap up.

Recovery teams stay on it amid Yuletide chaos, proving Lagos emergency crews’ clutch response – updates incoming.
