Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, doubled down on Nigeria’s security game plan Thursday: Relentless kinetic ops smashing terrorists alongside non-kinetic wins like community projects – all in tandem with other agencies and citizens to lock down the nation.
At the unveiling of a revamped 36-classroom Government Day Girls’ Secondary School in Maradun, Zamfara – courtesy of Maj.-Gen. Mamman Galadima’s Army Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation – Shaibu (via rep Maj.-Gen. WB Idris) hailed it as a tribute to stellar service, boosting education in bandit-plagued North West while fostering local ownership.
Galadima called the upgrade a “sanctuary of excellence” for future doctors and innovators, tossing in N2m cash, exercise books, solar borehole, and uniforms for 50 needy girls. School Principal Suwaiba Nafaru and Emir Garba Tambari gushed over the legacy lift, urging more hometown heroes to step up – a shining non-kinetic flex amid Zamfara’s insecurity woes.
