AIR CHIEF ANEKE CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS AT THE FRONTLINES, LIFTS TROOPS’ MORALE NATIONWIDE

While most Nigerians spent Christmas with family, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, chose the frontlines – eating with troops, shaking hands, and reminding them they’re the reason others can celebrate in peace.

According to NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Aneke’s Christmas visits and luncheons across operational theatres were all about one thing: boosting morale and honouring the sacrifices of officers, airmen and airwomen who stayed on duty through the festivities.

From Kainji to Katsina, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Kaduna and Enugu, NAF bases held simultaneous Christmas gatherings where the CAS’ goodwill message was read and troops were treated to special meals. Aneke called them “the pride of the nation,” praising their courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment to national security.

He told them their vigilance during the holidays sends a clear message: the Air Force is alert and resolute, giving criminals no breathing space “regardless of the time or season.” He tied this to his command philosophy, stressing that welfare is central to mission success – promising better living conditions, logistics, medical care and welfare packages to keep morale and combat readiness high.

Troops responded warmly, describing the CAS’ gesture as a big morale booster and a sign that their sacrifices are seen and appreciated at the top.
