Tired of dodging reckless trucks and sketchy buses on Lagos roads? Big relief ahead top agencies like Police, FRSC, and LASTMA just locked arms at Ikeja HQ to slash accidents and wipe out ‘one-chance’ robbers hitting highways hard!
At Tuesday’s stakeholders’ powwow, Lagos Police Commissioner Mr. Olohundare Jimoh spotlighted the chaos: 23 million folks, container trucks everywhere, bad driving, and jaywalking causing deadly crashes. Their fix? Monthly meets, state logistics backup, more cops on patrols pushing overhead bridges, full probes on every smash-up, and zero mercy for overloaded rigs in no-go zones. “No driver’s above the law—comply or face court!” he warned.
On ‘one-chance’, Jimoh said smarts are winning: fewer reports thanks to patrols, intel ops, and tips. “Plan trips, check plates, skip dodgy vans, and chill during stops,” he advised. FRSC’s DCC Bashiru Adeyemi hyped their Safe-to-Load (STL) checks keeping tankers legit—no more sneaky part swaps risking booms. They’re geared for yuletide traffic too.
LASTMA’s Ops Director Mr. Gbejemede Peter pushed awareness: “Obey rules, team up—safety’s on all of us!” This synergy means smoother flows, fewer wrecks, and safer commutes for Lagos hustlers.
