Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara just shocked the political scene, officially ditching the PDP for the ruling APC during a fiery stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt—ending months of speculation after a hush-hush visit to President Tinubu in Abuja.
Fubara told supporters it’s time for full-throated support, not “backyard” backing: “We can’t support Tinubu if we don’t fully identify with him… Today, we are moving to the APC!” He’s joining a South-South exodus with Delta’s Oborevwori, Akwa Ibom’s Eno, Enugu’s Mbah, and Bayelsa’s Diri already in the APC camp ahead of 2026 polls.
This comes after Tinubu’s March state of emergency in Rivers amid tensions—Taraba’s governor eyes January APC switch, hinting at a national realignment storm.
