Nigeria’s top scientists are wrapping up evidence-based advice for the NDLEA on whether to greenlight cannabis oil for medical use—and they’ve promised it’ll be fair, culture-smart, and free from bias.
In an Abuja interview, NAS Executive Secretary Dr. Oladoyin Odubanjo revealed the academy’s consensus study—sparked by an October workshop with NDLEA—is nearly done, diving into global regs, therapies, production standards, and more. “We set aside personal or religious views to focus purely on the science,” he said, adding it’s so solid that “anyone anywhere would respect the findings,” with Nigerians set to welcome it once public.
The recommendations, initially eyed for December rollout, stay confidential for now to guide smart decisions on regulation and medical rollout—no hype, just facts to shape Nigeria’s path forward.
