President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fired a strong warning to criminals during a memorial for Kogi’s late Prince Abubakar Audu: his government will hunt bandits and terrorists “wherever they hide” until peace returns to every corner of Nigeria.
Declaring a State of Emergency on security, Tinubu—via Minister Mohammed Idris—called it a full-scale war on insecurity, backed by massive recruitment into the army and police (up to 50,000 new officers) plus forest guard deployments. He pushed for State Police to boost local response and jobs, stressing Nigeria’s true image of religious harmony amid global misconceptions.
At the Lokoja event, Tinubu praised Audu’s visionary legacy, with Governor Ododo renaming a road after him and launching a leadership foundation. Son Shuaibu Audu highlighted Ajaokuta Steel revival as continuing his father’s industrial dreams, joined by dignitaries like Senator George Akume.
