Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ondo Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye rallied farmers, herders, traditional rulers, CSOs, and security teams at a two-day Partners for Peace in Niger Delta (P4P) workshop in Akure to forge collective strategies against escalating clashes that cripple farms, markets, and food security nationwide. With dry season looming and northern herders migrating south, Ibiloye stressed collaborative roles to avert destruction, noting Ondo Amotekun resolved 5,000+ disputes last year amid kidnappings and farm raids.
P4P Coordinator Mrs Stella-Ikeokwu Nathaniel echoed every citizen’s duty in peace-building, while Gov Aiyedatiwa’s SSA Olugbega Atiba pledged support alongside NSCDC’s forest ops; Farmers Congress Chair Abayomi Monilari hailed the forum for solutions to killings and crop losses.
Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, CAN, Muslims, and youths joined, committing to proactive mediation as Agro Rangers nationwide handled 603 cases in Oyo alone by mid-2025.
