NEMA CALLS FOR TIGHTER COOPERATION TO BOOST ROAD CRASH RESPONSE ACROSS NIGERIA

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is pushing for stronger coordination among all agencies involved in road crash management to improve emergency response effectiveness nationwide. Mrs. Bintu Aliyu, NEMA’s Head of Operations in Jos, spoke on this during a collaborative training and simulation exercise focusing on road crash preparedness.

Aliyu stressed that no single organization can tackle road traffic accidents alone; instead, a multi-stakeholder approach involving sharing best practices and regular realistic drills is essential to save lives. She proposed appointing a dedicated focal person to enhance communication, support training, and ensure smooth collaboration with NEMA.

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Plateau Sector Commander Olajide Mogaji urged participants to apply and disseminate the training insights further. Various groups, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers and the Nigeria Automobile Technician Association, pledged renewed commitment toward better preparedness and response action plans nationwide.
