Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) CEO Dr Folakemi Animashaun announced robust plans for World AIDS Day on December 1, under the theme “Overcoming Disruptions: Sustaining Nigeria’s HIV Response,” including free statewide HIV testing from November 18 to December 1 across all LGAs and LCDAs. She praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s leadership for bolstering systems and community networks like peer educators, support groups, and faith organizations that drive testing, treatment linkage, and stigma reduction.
Animashaun highlighted 2025 gains in HIV response, emphasizing community backbone over hospital-only efforts to sustain progress amid challenges.
Residents can access confidential testing with kits, condoms, and counseling at local points to know their status and connect to care.
