KOGI HEROES: ARMY RESCUES 21 HOSTAGES IN BLOODY BANDIT HIGHWAY AMBUSH

Troops from 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, alongside Quick Response Units, NSCDC, vigilantes, and hunters, stormed bandits who hit a convoy of six vehicles on Kabba-Obajana road Thursday around 2pm—freeing 21 passengers including Moses Oladimeji, Adele Jacob, the Ajayi couple, 9-day-old Rachael & Deborah Enenche with mum Paulina, and drivers of a Dangote cement truck (900 bags) and Kano-Lagos J5 pepper bus. Tragically, one soldier from Oshokoshoko and one Odoape vigilante fell in the fierce gun duel.

Spokesman Lt. Hassan Abdullahi confirmed the win to NAN Saturday in Lokoja, noting ~100 bandits targeted vehicles like Toyota Siena (YAB 968 AX Osogbo-Kaduna), Hiace (7BGT-78LG Owo-Abuja), and others from Abuja-Ekiti/Lokoja-Kabba rescue ops continue combing forests for any remaining captives and perpetrators. This follows Tuesday’s nearby success foiling an ambush, killing one bandit, and saving another victim along the same deadly axis.

Communities urged high alert amid surging threats; 12 Brigade’s relentless ops showcase Tinubu-era security grit in bandit hotspots.
