Ogun State Police Command has dismissed a viral social media video claiming imminent attacks on communities and tertiary institutions as fake and AI-generated. Spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola said forensic analysis by cybercrime and intelligence units confirmed the footage originated from a foreign platform three months ago, with no links to any terrorist group.
No credible intelligence indicates planned attacks, and the command urged residents to stay calm, avoid sharing unverified content, and report suspicious activities. Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo has ordered heightened surveillance, increased patrols, and inter-agency collaboration to maintain security.
Ogun remains safe and stable, with police committed to protecting lives and property.
