The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed a violent attack on Isapa community near Obbo-Ile Village on Monday, November 24, 2025, resulting in the abduction of 10 residents. Police Public Relations Officer SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said the assault involved suspected armed herders who stormed the village around 6:05 pm, firing indiscriminately.
Security forces swiftly responded after a distress call, deploying patrol and tactical teams. A woman wounded by gunfire has received treatment and been discharged, while search-and-rescue efforts are ongoing to find the abductees.
Commissioner of Police CP Adekimi Ojo visited Isapa to assess the situation, meeting traditional rulers Oba Gbenga Adeyeye and Oba Olu Fagbamila Raphael Olusegun, along with local leaders. He reassured residents of intensified efforts to secure the victims’ safe return and restore confidence.
Normalcy has returned to Isapa, but security personnel remain vigilant, combing surrounding forests for the kidnappers in a joint operation with vigilantes.
