Dare Zacheus, Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, has clarified that no students were kidnapped during the recent bandit attack on Kiri High School in Aiyetoro Kiri, Kogi State. The bandits were repelled by security forces and vigilantes, according to a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Omofa John.
While a hunter and another civilian were wounded by stray bullets, all students remain safe, and joint security teams are combing nearby bushes for fleeing bandits. Zacheus has urged residents to stay calm and continue their daily routines without fear.
This quick response from local vigilantes and security operatives prevented what could have become a major abduction incident, though sadly two people lost their lives during the confrontation.
