FCID LAGOS INTERCEPTS 300 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION AND CONTRABAND IN MAJOR BUST

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos, has seized 300 rounds of 9mm live ammunition hidden in a Nissan Frontier pickup, along with vehicles, foreign rice, used clothing, vegetable oil, and household goods. Police Public Relations Officer ASP Aminat Mayegun said the interception followed credible intelligence received by AIG Margaret Ochalla, leading to the arrest of the driver and five suspects linked to a U.S.-based shipper who failed to declare the illicit items.

The contraband was concealed among legitimate goods to evade port checks, with investigations now probing arms trafficking networks. The FCID is collaborating with Nigeria Customs Service and DSS for prosecution under the Firearms Act.

AIG Ochalla reaffirmed commitment to tackling insecurity, urging public tips to dismantle criminal operations.
