TUKUR MAMU ALLEGEDLY RECEIVED N50 MILLION FROM TERRORISTS AFTER ABUJA-KADUNA TRAIN ATTACK, DSS TESTIFIES

In a dramatic session at the Federal High Court, a DSS investigator revealed that Mr. Tukur Mamu was offered N50 million by Shugaba, the leader of the terrorist group responsible for the deadly Abuja-Kaduna train attack in March 2022. The testimony, given behind a witness screen for security reasons, detailed Mamu’s alleged role as a terrorist negotiator involved in ransom discussions and logistical support for the group, including teaching them how to run websites for their activities.

Voice notes recorded from Mamu’s devices, confiscated after his arrest in Egypt, were played in court, capturing interactions with terrorists planning ransom delivery and requesting materials for preaching. The DSS witness stated that Mamu was nominated by the terrorists to handle ransom payments from families personally, bypassing official government committees.

Further investigation uncovered Mamu’s attempts to hide assets by instructing relatives to relocate valuables before his arrest. Authorities recovered around 300,000 USD, seven vehicles, and a licensed yet expired pump-action gun from his properties. Despite learning about his communications and involvement through forensic analysis, Mamu claims innocence and challenges his designation.

The court admitted voice recordings, victim statements, and other evidence into proceedings, with trial continuation scheduled for November 26.
