NIGERIAN ARMY INTENSIFIES SEARCH-AND-RESCUE UNDER OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA IN NIGER, KEBBI, AND ZAMFARA

The Nigerian Army said troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) have ramped up search-and-rescue efforts for abducted school children in Niger, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. Within the past 24 hours, forces have neutralised terrorists and destroyed their hideouts across the North Central and Northwest regions.

In response to the St. Mary’s School abductions in Niger State, 22 Brigade deployed ISR aircraft and ground teams to track the terrorists’ escape route, expanding their operation to the Audu Fari area in Borgu LGA. Troops ambushed terrorists in Mariga LGA, causing casualties and confiscating motorcycles.

In Kebbi, troops conducted major operations around Gando/Sunke Forest and Talata Mafara in Zamfara, destroying three terrorist camps and recovering a lost international passport from a local resident.

The army remains committed to continuing operations until all abducted students are safely rescued and terrorist networks dismantled in these critical regions.
