NIGERIAN ARMY INTENSIFIES RESCUE OPERATIONS UNDER OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA ACROSS NIGER, KEBBI, AND ZAMFARA

The Nigerian Army, operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY), has escalated search-and-rescue missions for abducted school children in Niger, Kebbi, and Zamfara states. Sources at Army Headquarters confirmed that troops have neutralised terrorists and destroyed their hideouts across the North Central and North West corridors within the last 24 hours.

Troops of 22 Brigade responded swiftly to the abduction crisis at St Mary’s School in Papiri, Niger State, deploying ISR aircraft and ground teams to track the terrorists’ escape route and extending operations to the Audu Fari axis in Borgu Local Government Area.

In Mariga Local Government Area, troops ambushed terrorists at FOB Gulbin Boka, resulting in casualties and the capture of motorcycles used by the criminals. On the Kebbi front, operations intensified to rescue students abducted from GGSS Maga, including a major strike around the Gando/Sunke Forest and Talata Mafara area in Zamfara, where three terrorist camps were destroyed forcing criminals to flee. Troops also recovered a lost international passport belonging to a local resident.

The Nigerian Army reiterates its dedication to continuing efforts until all abducted students are freed and terrorist networks dismantled across these states.
