General Overseer of the House of Prayer Assembly, Basilica, Dr Joseph Omorinoye has called on Nigerians to unite against the persistent insecurity, stressing it is not a religious crisis. Speaking in Ilorin during a sermon titled “Prayer for Protection” from the Book of Psalm 35:1-10, he urged people to avoid hatred across religious divides and resist narratives framing insecurity as Muslim versus Christian conflict.
Dr Omorinoye highlighted that kidnappers demand ransom regardless of faith, urging collective prayer and unity to extinguish the ongoing turmoil. He prayed for divine intervention to destroy bandit and terrorist camps and protect Nigeria’s peace, while appealing for public cooperation with security efforts to end violent acts.
