More than 8,000 civil servants in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), spanning 165 cadres, will sit for promotion examinations this week. The Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, announced the exams will run for five days, from Tuesday to Saturday, at the National Open University Study Centre, Kubwa Road, Abuja.
The examinations will utilize a Computer-Based Test (CBT), deepening the newly introduced digital platform approved by the FCT Minister, aimed at speeding up the 2024 promotion exercise and motivating staff. Under the leadership of Nyesom Wike, the FCT led Nigeria as the first commission to adopt CBT for promotions, with the August 2025 promotion of 49 directors following this system.
The digital approach enhances transparency, efficiency, and merit-based promotions, helping clear backlogs and ensuring fairness across all cadres.
