The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has denied rumors about a mandatory closure of all government schools in the FCT on November 28. Mr. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, clarified that no such directive has been issued and called the reports false and misleading.
Olayinka urged parents, students, and school authorities to disregard the rumors, affirming that the academic calendar remains unchanged. He reassured residents, especially students, about the adequacy of security measures, highlighting that the FCT Minister has reactivated Operation Sweep and other security initiatives across the federal capital.
Furthermore, the Minister has ordered the suspension of the Mandate Secretary for Education, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, and instructed disciplinary actions for the Director of School Services, Mrs. Aishatu Sani Alhassan, underscoring the administration’s commitment to accountability.
