Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), reaffirmed the military’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations to combat criminal networks threatening security in Kogi State and across the country. Shaibu made this assurance during a courtesy visit from Kogi Governor Usman Ododo at Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The COAS pledged enhanced collaboration with state governments to strengthen security architecture and establish lasting peace. Governor Ododo praised Shaibu’s leadership and thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing him during this critical security period. Ododo also assured full support for military efforts within Kogi State.
Shaibu’s experience, including his prior role as Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI against insurgents, positions him as a determined leader driving reforms and intensified joint operations nationwide.
