PDP BOARD OF TRUSTEES BACKS TURAKI-LED NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE AFTER IBADAN CONVENTION

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), headed by Senator Adolphus Wabara, has reaffirmed its support for the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) elected at the party’s National Convention in Ibadan. Wabara declared the convention compliant with the party’s constitution, guidelines, the Electoral Act, and all relevant laws, reflecting the true will of PDP delegates nationwide.

Wabara condemned the violent invasion of the PDP National Secretariat by expelled members and armed thugs aiming to disrupt the legitimate leadership’s function. He praised Turaki, PDP governors including Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde, and party members for their courage in resisting the takeover attempt.

The BoT denounced actions by expelled individuals attempting to delegitimize the Ibadan Convention and called on the Inspector-General of Police to investigate attacks on the Secretariat. Wabara emphasized the importance of upholding internal democracy and urged the NWC to remain focused on rebuilding the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
