The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) concluded its 2025 National Media Summit on November 18, 2025, in Jalingo, Taraba State, championing urgent reforms in media safety, ethics, and digital innovation under the theme “Strengthening Media Resilience for National Development.” The summit convened journalists, scholars, government officials, security experts, and civil society advocates nationwide.

Highlighting challenges of insecurity, political divides, and digital disruption, Prof. Umaru Pate of Federal University Kashere emphasized the vital role of ethical journalism in democracy and warned against intimidation and misinformation eroding public trust.
