Early Thursday morning in Guto village, Bwari Area Council, the police stopped a scary kidnap attempt. Around 1:10 a.m., officers got a distress call about 30 armed men trying to snatch a family from their home.
The Bwari Division’s Surveillance Team teamed up with the Special Intervention Squad and rushed to the scene. When the attackers saw the police, they fired shots but the officers fought back fiercely. Two attackers were neutralized on the spot, while the others ran off into nearby bushes and hills.
Sadly, one brave police officer was fatally wounded and later died at Bwari General Hospital. The FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Miller Dantawaye, has sent more officers to the community and launched a full investigation to catch those responsible. Peace has been restored in Guto village.
