KANO GOV APPROVES PERMANENT JOBS FOR 1,600 SCHOOL WATCHMEN

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has approved the distribution of permanent and pensionable appointment letters to 1,600 newly recruited watchmen posted to secondary schools across the state. This move, announced by the governor’s spokesperson Sunusi Bature, is a major step toward restoring safety, discipline, and stability in public schools.

Yusuf stressed that a secure environment for students, teachers, and school facilities is a top priority, emphasizing that learning cannot thrive where safety is compromised. The watchmen will play a front-line role in safeguarding school premises, monitoring unauthorized activities, and supporting the smooth running of academic programs.

The governor commended the Ministry of Education and the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) for their commitment to executing government directives. He urged the newly appointed watchmen to discharge their duties with vigilance, discipline, and integrity.
