Anambra State is gearing up for a major cultural and entertainment festival this Yuletide, promising residents and visitors an unforgettable December experience. The event, branded “Onwa Dezemba,” will feature masquerade displays, Christmas carols, and musical concerts with top Nigerian artistes. Activities will be held at Ekwueme Square, Solution Fun City, Awka, and other designated venues across the state.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said the festival is part of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s push to promote tourism, culture, and creative entertainment, while boosting hospitality and local business. The State Executive Council has refined plans to deliver what they’re calling the most memorable December celebration yet.
The council also welcomed the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Ugochukwu Anyaechie, and reiterated its support for the university’s autonomy in leadership appointments.
