First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has called on all Nigerians to step up and protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse. Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday during the World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse 2025, she stressed the urgent need for collective action.
With this year’s theme, “Strengthening the Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse Through Evidence-Based Policy Making,” Mrs. Tinubu urged parents and society to make child protection a top priority.
“We must ensure every child grows up free from fear and harm,” she said, urging government agencies, civil society, traditional and religious leaders, parents, and young people to unite in creating safe environments for children to thrive.
“Protecting children requires more than good intentions—it demands informed action backed by accurate data, research, and effective policies,” she added. “May God protect all our children.”
