President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged participants of Course 33 at the National Defence College (NDC) to actively contribute to Nigeria’s inclusive governance and industrial growth during their strategic leadership training. Speaking in Abuja, he emphasized that developing Nigeria is a shared responsibility and called on emerging leaders to be agents of positive change.
Highlighting his commitment to empowering defence institutions, Tinubu said, “We must develop future strategic leaders equipped with knowledge and analytical skills to strengthen national power.” The course, themed “Strengthening Institutions for National Security and Development in Nigeria,” includes 99 participants from military, police, government ministries, and 23 international delegates.
The group presented a research paper titled “Harnessing Indigenous Manufacturing for Enhanced National Security by Year 2040,” aligning with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on economic diversification and digital innovation. The team drew lessons from countries like Qatar to recommend investment in infrastructure, product standardization, and support for the Defence Industrial Corporation of Nigeria (DICON).
Tinubu also challenged participants to foster intellectual curiosity and resilience for Nigeria’s future growth. He assured patience on the completion of the College’s permanent site, a process underway since 2010.
