In the last 24 hours, Nigerian Army troops have successfully demolished Kay terrorists’ hideouts in Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kogi, Kwara, Imo, and Benue states, according to a credible source at Army Headquarters.
Early raids in Katsina’s Faskari and Sabuwa LGAs saw airstrikes hitting terrorist enclaves and ground troops capturing escape routes, motorcycles, and recovering 231 livestock handed to local officials. Artillery fire destroyed terror logistics bases in Ungwan Tsamiya.
In Sokoto, troops swiftly quelled a farmers/herders clash, recovering weapons and evacuating casualties. Similar operations in Kebbi responded to violent clashes, evacuating injured and increasing patrols to prevent further violence.
Zamfara’s Operation included ambushes killing terrorists and confiscating weapons, mobile phones, and livestock.
In Kogi and Kwara, troops led by Maj.-Gen. C.R. Nnebeife responded to extremist abductions near Eruku road, conducting search-and-rescue despite attackers fleeing.
In Imo, a bulldozer trapped in previous operations was recovered by artillery brigade troops.
Operation Whirl Stroke in Benue nabbed a suspected extremist and rescued abducted farmers after a violent attack, handing over victims and remains to police.
