MUTFWANG DISOWNS PDP’S MOVE TO EXPEL WIKE, FAYOSE, CALLS FOR UNITY NOT WITCH-HUNT

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has distanced himself from the Peoples Democratic Party’s controversial bid to expel Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, and other senior members. In a statement released by his spokesperson, Gyang Bere, Mutfwang clarified that neither the PDP Governors’ Forum nor the National Executive Committee discussed or endorsed the expulsions.

He described the expulsion plan as unrepresentative of his views or the official stance of the party’s leadership. Mutfwang warned that targeting key figures amid the party’s struggle to regain public trust threatens internal dialogue and deepens divisions.

“This is not the time for punitive politics,” the governor stated. “What the PDP needs now is unity, honest conversation, and collective commitment to rebuild and reposition the party for future victories.”

He urged all party members to prioritize peace-building and avoid any actions that may undermine efforts to strengthen the PDP ahead of upcoming elections.
