NIGERIAN ENGINEERING OLYMPIAD TO LAUNCH NOVEMBER 20, SPURS INNOVATION AND INDUSTRY COLLABORATION

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), led by President Mrs. Margaret Oguntala, is partnering with key stakeholders to launch the Nigerian Engineering Olympiad (NEO) on November 20, 2025, in Abuja. The initiative aims to showcase innovative engineering talent among Nigerian students and promote creativity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

The 10-month competition will challenge students nationwide to apply engineering principles to real-world problems, progressing through regional and national contests, mentorships, prototype development, and culminating in an April 2026 grand finale. Winning teams will gain seed grants and technical support to commercialize their projects.

Oguntala highlighted the Olympiad as a bold step bridging academia and industry, fostering STEM education, and driving youth participation in nation-building. Partners include the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Renaissance Africa Energy Company, First Exploration & Petroleum, Enactus Nigeria, and others.
