Rep. Bamidele Salam (PDP-Osun), Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts and founder of CALDEV, announced the 2025 National Children Leadership Conference (NCLC) will convene over 400 young Africans in Abuja from November 17 to 21. Themed “The Role of Children in Nation Building: Digitally Smart, Socially Responsible,” the conference aims to equip 13-to-19-year-olds with leadership skills, digital literacy, and social responsibility.
The conference, aligning with Universal Children’s Day on November 20, will feature leadership training, digital empowerment, civic engagement, book launching, children’s parliamentary session, public speaking, and problem-solving challenges. Notable attendees include Vice President Kashim Shettima, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, and Governor Ademola Adeleke.
CALDEV, founded in 2015, has mentored over 1,000 Nigerian children, fostering values-driven leadership and advocacy for children’s rights across Africa. The conference also promotes cultural exchange, unity, and a shared vision for a prosperous continent led by empowered youth.
