The Anambra chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) has congratulated Governor Chukwuma Soludo on his re-election victory, praising his leadership and commitment to inclusive governance. Chairman Ugochukwu Okeke urged Soludo to prioritize disability inclusion and accessibility in his second term.
Okeke also applauded INEC’s progress in electoral accessibility, noting that approximately 65% of polling units made ballot boxes accessible to voters with physical disabilities, along with priority voting and assistive materials. He commended security agencies for maintaining a safe and respectful voting environment without incidents of intimidation.
JONAPWD recommended sustained efforts for better data collection on persons with disabilities to enhance future election planning and acknowledged its partners for supporting members in combating insecurity and misinformation during the polls.
