FCT MINISTER NYESOM WIKE GIVES LAND USE VIOLATORS 14-DAY DEADLINE TO PAY ₦5M FINE

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has issued a 14-day ultimatum starting November 11, 2025, to property owners in key Abuja areas who converted their land use without official approval. They must pay a ₦5 million violation fee or face enforcement actions by the FCT Administration.

Affected locations include Maitama, Asokoro, Wuse II, Garki I and II districts, covering streets like Gana, Usuma, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Aminu Kano Crescent, Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Ladoke Akintola Boulevard, and more.

Property owners are required to visit the Department of Land Administration with original title documents and valid ID to regularize their land use and obtain new title documents valid for 99 years. However, lands previously revoked for non-development or unpaid ground rent are excluded.

This follows an earlier 30-day window that expired over a month ago, highlighting FCT’s commitment to enforcing land use regulations to ensure orderly urban development.
