Dr. Wole Oluyede, the freshly minted PDP governorship candidate for Ekiti State’s 2026 election, has kicked off efforts to unify the party by reaching out to his former competitors. Following his primary victory on Saturday, Oluyede met with Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun—the sole female aspirant—at her campaign office in Ado-Ekiti to reinforce peace and solidarity.
Oluyede praised Ogun’s dignified conduct during the primaries, calling her a strong ally and emphasizing that politics is about negotiation and partnership. He humbly acknowledged that his victory is by divine will, not personal superiority, and celebrated all aspirants as valuable contributors.
Mrs. Ogun conceded defeat gracefully, prioritizing the party’s unity over litigation despite irregularities noticed in the primary. She expressed confidence that PDP will remain strong and emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship race.
