The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a three-year-old boy reported missing and arrested six suspects linked to a child trafficking syndicate spanning Anambra, Enugu, and Lagos states. Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga announced that the investigation began after the boy’s family lodged a petition on September 4.
The child was left in the care of a neighbor in Umusiome, Nkpor Uno, who vanished with him. Following the neighbor’s confession, police arrested her mother and two brothers, while others were apprehended in Enugu and Lagos for facilitating the child’s movement. The boy has been safely reunited with his family.
Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu reiterated the command’s commitment to securing lives and warned criminals to stay away, affirming that Anambra remains unsafe for crime.
