Jeff Nweke, the Action Alliance governorship candidate in Anambra’s recent election, has congratulated Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory. Speaking at a post-election press conference in Awka, Nweke described the election as one of the freest and most efficient in Anambra’s history.
He praised the smooth conduct and the clear voice of the people, commending Soludo’s gesture of fellowship towards other candidates. Nweke encouraged all contestants to accept the election results and avoid litigation.
Though he acknowledged reports of vote-buying in some areas, Nweke did not observe such in his polling unit. He mourned the killing of a councillor in Orumba South and called for inclusive governance from Soludo.
Nweke urged the governor to focus his second term on addressing youth unemployment and poverty, stating that hunger caused by joblessness is the root of Anambra’s challenges.
