PRESIDENTIAL COMMITTEE PROMISES ON-TIME REVAMP OF SECURITY TRAINING INSTITUTIONS TO BOOST NATIONAL SECURITY

The Presidential Committee led by Governor Peter Mbah is committed to meeting the deadline for refurbishing Nigeria’s security training institutions, following an assessment tour of the Nigeria Police Training School in Nonwa-Tai, Rivers. The committee, inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu at the National Executive Council meeting, underscores the urgency of a total overhaul to secure the nation’s future.

Mbah emphasized that recruitment of 30,000 new police personnel would only commence after modernized, well-equipped training facilities are ready, noting that decades of neglect have left institutions in ruins. The revitalization, treated as a national emergency, involves a comprehensive rebuild with digital transformation and modern skills training, including AI and robotics.

Governors Siminalayi Fubara and Dapo Abiodun highlighted the project’s goal of restoring professionalism, morale, and integrity within the police force. The committee works with a one-month timeframe to submit detailed renovation plans nationwide.
