NIGERIAN ARMY CHIEF VOWS RELENTLESS OFFENSIVE TO CRUSH INSURGENCY IN NORTH EAST

Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff, has pledged that Nigerian troops will maintain relentless operations against insurgents until all their support and sanctuaries are eliminated. On his first operational tour of the Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai, Shaibu urged soldiers to intensify efforts to crush remaining insurgents and restore lasting peace to the North East.

Speaking during his visit, Shaibu assured the troops of unwavering commitment to their welfare, logistics, and combat readiness, emphasizing fairness and professionalism in all deployments. His visit aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s directive to consolidate gains in the fight against terrorism.

The COAS also engaged with the Shehu of Borno, who praised the army’s bravery and humanitarian efforts, affirming that no local government in the state remains under terrorist control. Shaibu inaugurated new facilities, visited wounded soldiers, and toured frontline areas to recalibrate strategies for stronger combat effectiveness.

This marks a renewed momentum in Nigeria’s quest to eradicate terrorism and restore peace across the North East.
